The ride began as aOPENone-day ride for local town residents and was organized by three couples to take place at one couples back yard. Word traveled and many out-of-town friends wanted to help supportTUESUN:the hospital too but needed to stay overnight with hauling horses and all. With all the fun to be had and since the money would benefit such an impactful cause, word continued to7am9pmspread even more. The Trail Ride evolved from a one-day ride to a weekend ride, to a 4-day event! Weve added both a silent and live auction to raise more money. We even started inviting the local community out for one night to join us for dinner and now weve added a machine component. Horse riders ride the trails one way and the machine drivers drive the trails the other way. We all meet for breakfast and dinner, with lunch on the trail. Trust me, this is fun and the most beautiful country to be seen and experienced!Lets Hit the Trails! Our riders also compete on a trail-trial course and gymkhana for champion belt buckles. The Trail Ride & Drive Committee award the top male and female riders. As I recall, the women seem to be scoring at a higher point average than the men but whos counting. Our drivers cover more miles on the trail, so they have the opportunity to visit historic sites across this beautiful country. Were still developing a competition component, yet one thing is for sure. If our drivers love and respect horses, their riders, and the land then theyre welcome to come back and bring their friends!Q : What can attendees expect for 2020?A: The Trail Ride & Drive dates are November 12-15, 2020. All our meals are catered by the very famous Eddie Nassar of Chuckwagons West. Most of our riders say if it wasnt for the food, friends, and hospitalthey would just as soon stay home.
