At first, you might be thinking about the power your muscles produce. How much you can lift, how strong you are. If you’re an athlete, it might be about how strong your legs are, how fast you can run, how high you can jump, how hard you can hit, how your strength gracefully carries you on a balance beam, being able to dance a complete ballet, or ride a bull. To get those end results you’ve had to spend hours lifting weights, doing cardiovascular exercise, mental workouts and experiencing a lot of pain. Maybe your thoughts took you to your mental strength. Some are extremely strong at learning from a book or instructors in order to prepare for a major test in school or to get into the career of choice. A strong mind can accomplish many things. Your strength might be through your personality, your endurance to overcome adversity, your ability to not let things bother you, the strength you have to love someone, forgive someone, or help someone. There is strength in choosing your words carefully and being able to turn bad into good. Who would think there are so many ways to look at strength. Last month my father-in-law, who you will read about in the A Rancher Rests in Heaven tribute, passed away. The pastor said something at his funeral that has been on my mind ever since. Bill was a prayer warrior, he garnered strength through the power of prayer and I can’t even tell you how many times a day he prayed, LOTS. Bill believed his strength came from God and that God could empower and help anyone to be strong. The pastor said that he “challenged” someone to step up and take over where Bill had left off. That is a huge challenge. I believe in prayer, it is my super power, the only one I have. I have no idea if I will accept that challenge but will certainly work on it and pray about it. Who doesn’t want to be strong. At Arizona Real Country Magazine and at our radio station 96.3 Real Country, we start our day with prayer. In my truck and in my office each day I do the same. We need all the strength we can get to carry on the tasks a small family owned business requires when trying to compete with the major corporate media companies. All of us have challenges daily and need added strength. No matter what is going on around you, no matter what obstacles confront you, no matter how hard things are, no matter who stands between you and your goal, no matter how great your life is right now, no matter what someone says about you, no matter___, no matter___, no matter___ just remember, true strength comes from within and the power God gave you to talk with Him. You might be surprised where your strength really comes from and how strong you can become with prayer. 37 1 7 34 41
