ArizonaRealCountry.com 47 November 2017 MORE THAN What it Seems By Jennifer Wolf and Robin Etnyre Have you ever looked a picture that seemed to be one image, only to realize if you look at it a different way it’s a completely different image? That’s kind of the wonders of 4-H. 4-H can look different based on your interest, your location, your club, and it’s still 4-H! Meet Jennifer Wolf, Program Coordinator for 4-H After School Programs, 4- H SPIN Clubs, and 4-H Cloverbuds, as she shares her 4-H philosophy. “I am looking forward to working with current and future volunteers to bring 4-H programming into new areas in our communities. My goal for 4-H AfterSchool is to connect with school districts and community centers to create relationships and to offer training and support to their current staff so that they can utilize 4-H curriculum in their program. 4-H SPIN Clubs are a new delivery mode for Maricopa County. While we currently have AmeriCorps staff bringing a few 4-H SPIN Clubs in Maricopa County, our goal is to train and support amazing volunteers who have a passion about a specific topic and want to share their knowledge with young people all over Maricopa County. We are working to grow both our traditional 4-H Community Club program and our new 4-H delivery modes here in Maricopa County 4-H. As an Early Childhood Educator, my passion is for our youngest 4-H’ers which we refer to as Cloverbuds. Our Cloverbud Program is for youth that are 5 – 8 years old. Basically, they are the future of 4-H. My goal for the 4-H Cloverbud Program is to train and support current and future clubs on how to have a successful program for their youngest members and to successfully transition them from Cloverbuds to 4-H’ers. We would like Cloverbuds to get a taste of all projects offered through 4-H so that when they reach the age of 9, they are well informed of the projects that interest them the most. Through engaging learning activities, crafts, and physical activities, Cloverbuds should know that 4-H offers an opportunity for them to grow and develop into the leaders of tomorrow.” If you are an educator, know of a school or an educator that is interested in starting a 4-H After School program, a 4-H SPIN Club, or a 4-H Cloverbud Club, please contact Jennifer Wolf at 602-827-8284 or email her at jenniferwolf@email.arizona.edu.
