ArizonaRealCountry.com 15 February 2019 VEGGIE ARIZONA HORSEMAN’S CHALLENGE & EXPO Returns to Queen Creek April 19, 20 & 21 The Arizona Horseman’s Challenge is a colt starting challenge like no other. This challenge has five trainers who choose their horses from a herd of mustangs from the BLM holding facility at Florence prison. The picking is done white elephant style Friday evening, trainers can pick a horse that has already been chosen, or pick another from the remaining herd. All of the training time the trainers have with their horses, eight hours over three days, takes place at the same time, in five side by side round pens. It is amazing to watch all five trainers working with their mustangs at the same time. This format makes for an exciting spectator experience while allowing plenty of time to enjoy many other Expo offerings. The Expo offers more than 50 different clinics in five different areas at Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre to attend and learn at over the three event days. Ride with the Expert Participation Clinics offer the opportunity to sign up and bring your own horse to have a hands-on clinic experience in a small group setting. Arizona Working Equitation Club will have a horse show and obstacle clinic during the event. Saturday night will host a concert featuring Arizona’s own Shari Rowe.
