b'FOR THAT PERSONAL TOUCHCowboy WisdomTHAT WONT LEAVE A PRINT. CALLBLOWN480-795-0617 STIRRUPBy Pete FloresTexas rancher, passing on Cowboy wisdom and serving the Lord.W orking at La Paloma Ranch during my years in graduate school, I learned a lot of valuable lessons. Lessons that I am glad I had the opportunity to experience. One cold December morning we saddled up, mounted, and started to ride out to the pasture to round up some cattle. As we made our way through the area where the new working pens were being built, the farm manager stopped us to discuss them. He stood WINDOW CLEANINGPOWER WASHING in the middle of the semi-circle talking to all seven of us and we listened as the farm manager and the foreman reviewed the pens.CHANDELIERS / MIRRORSI was to the right of the foreman and I noticed that his horse appeared to be falling WATER SPOT REMOVALSCREEN CLEANINGasleep. As I observed the horse, I noticed a horsefly land on his neck. I was expecting EpicShineWindowCleaning.com the horse to move his neck muscles to make the fly leave but about that same time, the foreman also noticed the fly on his horses neck. He slowly gathered his split reins, and I could see he was going to swat the fly. He got the reins in his hand, slowly moved his hand upward, and with a swift move he swatted at the fly.His horse, in an instant, jumped about ten feet, pulled his head between his front legs, and started bucking hard. Many times, when a horse is bucking, you can bump him, and he will come out of the buck. I saw what was happening so I laid my spurs into my horse hoping to bump the foremans horse. Well, my horse snorted and proceeded to join the foremans horse in bucking. He was hitting the ground hard and coming up again. We went right by the foreman and his bucking horse and about that time I blew a stirrup. I was hanging on, trying to control my horses head, and doing my best with that blown stirrup to not get bucked off. I laid my spurs into my horse and he slowed down giving me a chance to regain my stirrup. Finally, he lifted his head and stopped bucking. The other fellers were laughing and shouting words of encouragement. I too laughed at the remarks from the other cowboys, whose apparent motto was enjoy life.Life is REMODELING sometimes like riding a horse and blowing a stirrup means that ride is going to become more difficult for a bit or you may even get bucked off. One needs to concentrate on the THIS WINTER? horse, stay on top, and weather the storm. At times, life does not go as smoothly as we would like, but we cannot give up or lose our conviction. We just need to stay focused We Canon the Lord and he will help us to not lose faith and endure.
