ArizonaRealCountry.com 27 July 2018 DIRECTIONS Boil macaroni in water until tender and drain thoroughly. Stir in butter and egg. Mix mustard and salt with 1 T. hot water and add to milk. Add cheese, leaving enough to sprinkle on top. Pour into buttered casserole, add milk, sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or until custard is set and top is crusty. cucumber yogurt salad INGREDIENTS 2 med. size cucumbers, peeled, quartered lengthwise and seeded 16 oz. (2 c.) plain yogurt 2 t. salt 1 t. cumin 1 clove garlice DIRECTIONS Cut the cucumbers into 1/4" dice and place in a medium size bowl. Add the salt, toss and transfer to a colander; allow to drain for 15 minutes.Leaving the cukes in the colander, rinse them under cold water and press out the liquid with your hands or a wooden spoon. Return them to the bowl and blend in the yogurt, cumin, garlic and additional salt, if desired. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Serve garnished with 2 T. finely chopped coriander and sprnkling of cayenne if desired. Best ever apple pie INGREDIENTS Pastry for two-crust pie 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 t. cinnamon 1/8th t. allspice 1/8 t. cloves 1/8 t. nutmeg 1/2 c. butter 6-8 med. apples, peeled and sliced DIRECTIONS Line 9" or 10" pie plate with pastry. Mix sugars, flour, cinnamon, allspice, cloves and nutmeg. Sprinkle 1/4 of mixture over bottom of unbaked pastry. Layer apples and sugar-spice mixture over this, ending with sugar-spice mixture. Cut butter in small pieces and dot pie. Cover with unbaked pastry. Bake at 400° for 50-55 minutes.
