We all have stories about how busy we are and how much we have on our plate. You may think your boss has no idea of what work you actually do or how much you do. Maybe your boss thinks you aren’t being as productive as you could be. Whose thinking is correct? Wow, that answer came quick! Last month, with the passing of the great country legend Glen Campbell, I started reading what people had said about his life. Brian Wilson wrote “an incredible musician and an even better person.” Faith Hill remembered him as “one of a kind in every way.” Clint Black said, “His music will always be with us.” Travis Tritt called him “a tremendous talent.” Roseanne Cash said, “Great voice, great guitarist.” Sara Evans fondly recalled that “his music influenced her love of great lyrics.” Zac Brown wrote “amazing performer and more importantly a great dude.” Jason Aldean simply said “a great one.” Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum reminisced about “the huge mark he left on country music.” Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry tweeted, “A legend, a pioneer, an icon.” Keith Urban wrote, “Life is about the memories you make and he left many memories.” It’s sad to lose one of the greats of country music, but did you notice, not one person commented how much or little work Glen Campbell did. Maybe the quick answer to the question should be “WHO CARES.” Glen Campbell in his last documentary “I’ll Be Me” said, “I do all I can but I’m not in control of my life, God is.” What will people say about you someday? Start making memories with those around you and build a portfolio of people not work accomplishments. 1936-2017 20 28 1 6 1 2
