Owned and operated by the White Mountain Apache Tribe, Sunrise offers you outstanding downhill skiing as well as, snowboarding. This season, the resort has added 10 new state-of-the-art snow guns. The guns, TR8s by TechnoAlpin, are computer controlled. Year 'round activities include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and camping. SKIING In winter, three mountains offer some of the finest skiing in the Western United States. Sixty- five (65) runs promise adventure for skiers of any level. Of 65 runs, 80% are for the beginning and intermediate skiers - Ski Sunrise Peak, Apache Peak, and Cyclone Circle! There is also a separate snowboarding area, cross country ski trails and a special children's "ski-wee" area that permits the little ones to learn to ski in a safer environment. Sunrise Park Resort offers you twelve (four black diamond) challenging runs for the advanced skier! You'll enjoy some of the finest slopes in the western United States. More than 800 acres of skiing over three interconnected mountains, with the longest run (Lonestar on Cyclone Mountain) of 2.75 miles. Five Day Lodges provide food and beverage service within the park. SNOWBOARDING FUN Sunrise Snowboard Park is located between Pinedale and Lodgeview runs within sight of the Sunrise Lodge. The Snowboard Park features half-pipe, embedded rails, sound system and lots of jumps from beginner to advanced. SNOW BIKES This year Sunrise has purchased 15 new snow bikes! They offer rentals and lessons with the highest certified instructors in the country! With a relatively short learning curve, most riders can be comfortable within a few hours and be carving out their own lines!
