October 2017 26 My Mom (Dottie) grew up on a ranch in Wyoming as a kid, then moved to Nebraska and lived a short time in Iowa. Mom was born in 1935 and passed away in January of 2016. Mom, hosted a radio talk show for many years and wrote a newspaper article weekly. She also published many cookbooks. Dad and Mom retired to Sun City, Arizona and traveled for about 20 years, before passing away. She loved the country way of life and especially loved Country Music and making friends wherever they traveled. Every weeknight, on 96.3 Real Country at 6pm, you can hear “Dottie’s Country Memories”. You’ll hear some of her favorite artists like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Glen Campbell and thousands more. This monthly remembrance of her, brings back fond memories of great meals together. We love her and hope you enjoy some of the recipes from her cookbooks.
