Gordon Kesler, Author Gordon was raised on a ranch in Southern Alberta, Canada where he had the normal responsibilities of any farm and ranch kid growing up. Riding horses and working with cattle were more exciting than driving tractors and he deferred the later responsibilities to his older brother. Influenced by his uncle, Reg Kesler, who was a Canadian rodeo champion and PRCA stock contractor, Gordon entered his first rodeo at the age of eight. He loved riding broncs and bulls, and he especially loved the adrenalin rush he experienced while competing in rodeos. Weber State University offered Gordon a rodeo scholarship as well as an academic scholarship; both were valuable in furthering his education but the rodeo scholarship allowed him to pursue what he loved while getting his degree in Biology. Upon completion University, Gordon moved back to Canada with his wife and two small boys. Jobs in his profession were scarce and so with a young family to support Gordon decided to take a job in the oil and gas industry. His first job was working on drilling rigs on the Islands of the Canadian Arctic. He loved the challenging work and the challenges of the industry and soon realized this was a career he wanted to pursue. One day the phone rang and an associate in the industry asked if he would be interested in a job as an Oilfield Scout. With further explanation Gordon was told that scouting was just another term for spying. This sounded exciting and he immediately went and interviewed for the position. The rest is history he embarked on a most exciting journey as an OILFIELD SPY. From this experience, he wrote his first novel, a story based on actual events. Gordon didn’t travel far at any time without the companionship of his 300 Winchester Magnum. Wolverine Hills Espionage Scout is a story of intrigue and action centered on an operation NOT known to the general public. That operation is “Field Scouting” or more correctly “Spying.” The story is centered on a mineral (oil and gas) land sale on public lands that were previously out of bounds due to environmental concerns.
