If I look close enough the sun will come shining through.” That tune has stuck in my head all week long. Another thought that has been with me this week, is of the last vacation I took with my Mom and Dad before my Mom passed away, to Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. As I go thru the pictures of the trip I found beautiful scenery pictures that I was so intent on getting and NO pictures of the 4 of us together. Maybe I had focused my attention inwards instead of outwards? Maybe it was so much about what I wanted to see and how and when I wanted to move the trip along, that I forgot about the most important part of the trip and that should have been spending the time together and looking at the sunshine each of us had to give. A week ago my wife spent a week with her friends hiking the Grand Canyon. It was a bucket list item for her and she was so excited to go, planned the trip, worked hard at getting ready to go, then went on the trip and was so excited about it. It was so perfect, the hike down the canyon, the stay and hiking for a few days in the canyon and then the hike out. She came home so excited and wanted to show me pictures and share her trip with me. Again looking inward, I looked at all her pictures in about 30 seconds, handed them back to her without listening to her talk about the trip, said great trip and moved on to something else. I was not looking at the sunshine which should have been my wife and the excitement she wanted to share with me. This month is full of celebrations, parties, events, family, and people. Christmas can be a very hectic time, but it can be a very loving time, full of sunshine and blue skies. As we celebrate the birth of Christ, let's remember why we celebrate that miraculous birth. Let's remember and then interact with the people we get to share the Christmas holiday with. Let's see how many pictures we can take, with as many people as we can. Let's listen to as many stories as family members want to share, even if we’ve heard it 100 times before. Listen to the story as if it was the first time you ever heard it. Let's find the good in that person that you’ve had a hard time finding any good in. It’s there! Let's greet every person that walks in the door as if you haven’t seen them for years.… “IT’S SUCH A PRETTY WORLD TODAY, LOOK AT THE SUNSHINE, TODAY AND EVERY DAY, SINCE I FOUND YOU”. MERRY CHRISTMAS 28 Correction: The article about John Behan by Michael Sanford in our October 2018 edition stated that Judge Wells Spicer was a relative of the Earps. That information is incorrect. They were not related.
